Our founder, an Executive Chef with two decades of experience across fine dining, casual dining, and hotel kitchens, has spent most of his career working in leading steakhouses, opening and managing successful venues and refining techniques that focus on one thing above all else: consistency and quality of meat.

In recognition of his professional journey and commitment to excellence, he was selected as a Finalist in the Australian Professional Chef of the Year 2025. This milestone reflects years of discipline, patience, and passion behind the grill.

After years of building restaurants for others, the time came to create something personal.

Wood & Grill is his own vision, a chef-led, semi-fine dining steakhouse located in the heart of Melbourne CBD, offering a premium steakhouse experience at an accessible price point.

The name Wood & Grill embodies the essence of our restaurant. Wood reflects the warm, inviting atmosphere of our space, while Grill represents the precision, skill, and attention to detail that define every dish from our kitchen.

Our philosophy is simple: Exceptional ingredients, handled with care, cooked with precision, and served consistently, every time.

While steaks remain at the heart of our menu, we also offer a carefully curated selection of seafood, chicken, lamb, and vegetarian dishes, creating a balanced and considered dining experience. We proudly work with quality local and seasonal ingredients wherever possible, ensuring freshness and flavour across the menu.

Our menu is designed for everyone — from premium cuts, Wagyu selections, and dry-aged steaks for true meat lovers, to family-friendly options, budget-conscious choices, and a dedicated kids’ menu. We also proudly serve a continental buffet breakfast, making Wood & Grill a true all-day dining destination for breakfast, lunch, drinks, and dinner, with à la carte lunch and dinner menus available alongside our signature beverages.

Trading Hours

• Buffet Breakfast, 7 days from 6.30 am to 10.30 am.
• Lunch, 7 days from 11.30 am to 2.30 pm.
• Dinner, Sunday to Thursday from 5.00 pm to 9.30 pm, Friday to Saturday from 5.00 pm to 10.00 pm.
• Closed for Lunch and Dinner on Sundays & Public Holidays.
